Overview
Embark on one of the finest weekend treks in the tranquil Chopta and Tungnath, nestled in the Garhwali Himalayas. At 13,000 feet, this trek offers an unforgettable experience amidst mists, coniferous trees, and snow. The best time for the Tungnath trek is from April to November, when you can witness the mesmerizing beauty of the Himalayas.
The Chandrashila summit trek reveals breathtaking beauty, enhanced by lush deodar and rhododendron forests. Chopta is a visual delight, with its expansive greenery captivating visitors in spring and summer, and a pristine blanket of snow making it equally enchanting in winter.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 01: Haridwar to Chopta | 240 km Drive | Altitude: 7874 ft.
Early in the morning, we make a brief stop in Rishikesh to pick up those joining us for the round-trip journey (Rishikesh to Rishikesh). From here, we'll set off towards Chopta, situated at an altitude of approximately 2,680 meters (8,790 feet). Our route will take us through the scenic towns of Devprayag, Rudraprayag, and Ukhimath.
Day 02: Chopta to Tungnath and back to Chopta and Drive to Sari village | Trek distance: 5.5 Km | Altitude: 7874 ft to 13123 ft.
After a hearty breakfast, begin your trek from Chopta to Tungnath. The 5-kilometer ascent leads you to a truly enchanting destination.
Upon reaching Tungnath, visit the renowned Tungnath Temple, which is over 1,000 years old. This ancient temple is a major highlight of the journey, drawing numerous pilgrims and tourists alike.
The adventure continues as you trek to Chandrashila Peak, soaring over 12,000 feet. This part of the journey is equally significant, offering breathtaking views of the Himalayas, the vibrant Garhwal landscape, and the towering pine, maple, and oak trees. The serene silence of the mountains adds to the awe-inspiring experience.
After soaking in the summit's beauty, descend back to Chopta, where you'll camp for the night.
Day 03: Sari village to Deoriyatal by Trek, descend to Sari Village and drive to Rishikesh.
After breakfast, you’ll embark on a trek to Deoriatal Lake, situated at an altitude of 2,438 meters above sea level. This 2.5 km trek typically takes around 2 hours to complete. During the winter months, temperatures at the lake range from -5°C to 12°C. With the snow sparkling in the sunlight, the scene is truly breathtaking. The trek’s path follows the Alaknanda and Ganga rivers, which flow nearby.
Upon reaching Deoriatal Lake, you'll take a short break before continuing your trek to Sari Village. By 10:00 AM, you’ll arrive in Sari Village, where you’ll pack up and get ready for the drive back to Rishikesh.
At 10:30 AM, after a brief rest and soaking in the final moments of the mountain scenery, you'll start your journey back to Rishikesh. The drive is long and can take the whole day, but the ever-changing views outside your window will keep you mesmerized. The winding mountain roads, the crisp, fresh air, and the stunning landscapes will leave a lasting impression, offering a deep sense of rejuvenation that you’ll carry with you forever.
Trek Cancellations Policy:
Initial amount of 25% of the Invoice amount, the Client must pay the balance amount 3 days prior to the date of departure of the Tour.
Tour Payment Terms:
If the Client is willing to amend or cancel his/her booking because of whatsoever reasons including death, accident, illness, or any other personal reasons including non-payment of the balance payment, the Company is liable to recover Cancellation charges from the Client, as company had already paid your amount in advance in order to Guarantee your services.

2. In case of any restriction/health issue (guest gets Covid +ve), we will be avoiding charging any cancellation basis documents been shared. The credit note for the same amount will be issued which guest can use in future.
